Len Goodman, the renowned English dance expert and former judge on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ passed away at 78.

Following a courageous battle with bone cancer, he died on Saturday in a hospice in Kent, southern England.

His manager, Jackie Gill, confirmed the news and stated that Goodman was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.

Born in London in 1944, Len Goodman began his dance journey at 19. He had a successful career as a professional dancer before transitioning to television.

Goodman became a household name after serving as the head judge on BBC’s “Strictly Come Dancing,” the British version of “Dancing With the Stars,” from its inception in 2004.

He made his final appearance on the show during the 2016 Christmas Day special, after which Shirley Ballas took over the role.
