Clayton, a leading national builder of affordable housing, has adopted Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite to overhaul its business processes, improve efficiency, and support its mission to provide sustainable housing across America.

The company has increased productivity and improved decision-making while reducing costs by consolidating its finance, planning, and supply chain operations onto a unified platform.

Founded in 1956, Clayton has grown into one of the nation’s largest home builders, with over 60 home-building and component manufacturing facilities and over 380 sales locations.

However, its complex operations, which span home building, retail, and financing, created challenges in gaining timely insights and making critical business decisions.

Faced with recent industry challenges such as rising interest rates and material inflation, Jim Stariha, Clayton’s Chief Financial Officer, emphasized the need to focus on efficiency and cost reduction.

“Oracle Fusion Applications Suite has enabled us to standardize our intricate finance and supply chain processes on a single integrated cloud platform,” Stariha said.

“This technology has helped us reduce working capital, expand insights, and improve decision-making, making homeownership more attainable for our customers.”

Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) has been a critical tool for Clayton, allowing the company to consolidate its financial data and enhance financial controls.

Meanwhile, Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM) has enabled Clayton to improve its supply and demand planning, making its home-building and logistics operations more responsive to market changes.

Steve Miranda, Executive Vice President of Applications Development at Oracle, noted that Clayton’s adoption of the integrated cloud platform, with AI-powered features, has significantly improved efficiency and streamlined processes, helping the company bring new housing innovations to market.

With Oracle’s quarterly updates, Clayton continues to benefit from the latest advancements in cloud technology, further reinforcing its position as a leader in sustainable and attainable housing.
