Emma and Liam Lead the Way

Since 2017, ‘Emma’ has been the reigning champion for girls’ names in New York City. 

Similarly, ‘Liam’ has held the top spot for boys since 2016. 

These names have not only been favorites among parents but have also reflected a broader trend across the city. 

In 2022 alone, 388 baby girls were named Emma, and 739 boys were named Liam, according to birth certificate records from the Health Department.
