Hank Green, esteemed science communicator, bestselling author, and YouTube sensation, recently made a somber announcement through a video on his channel, revealing his diagnosis with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a form of blood cancer.

In a heartfelt video address, the 43-year-old influencer, known for his insightful commentaries and educational content, detailed his journey through the diagnosis.

“In the American healthcare system, rapid efficiency is a rarity,” Green stated, highlighting the unnerving speed at which his test results arrived. “When things start to move swiftly, it is rather unsettling.”

Unfortunately, Green’s apprehensions proved valid. His diagnostic tests confirmed a positive cancer diagnosis.

However, despite the shock and gravity of the situation, Green remains hopeful.

His type of lymphoma is highly treatable, and current indications suggest that it was detected at an early stage, significantly improving his odds.

Reflecting his typically optimistic perspective, Green offered a “very Hank Green thought”: “There has never been a better time in human history to have lymphoma.”

In light of his diagnosis, the future of these projects remains uncertain. However, Green reassured his audience that they need not worry about his potential hiatus.

He directed his followers to his newsletter, which he believes will be more manageable during his chemotherapy.
