The fashion world is buzzing as Coofandy, a leading international menswear brand, and Ekouaer, a beloved women’s sleepwear label, prepare to debut at New York Fashion Week (NYFW).
Their runway show is scheduled for Sunday, September 8, 2024, at the iconic Cipriani 25 Broadway, a venue as grand as the momentous occasion.
This event marks a significant leap for both brands, which started their journey in the unlikeliest places—an Amazon storefront.
From Humble Beginnings to Fashion’s Grandest Stage
In 2015, Coofandy was just a startup offering accessible style for the modern man.
Launched on Amazon, the brand quickly captured the attention of menswear enthusiasts with its sharp business shirts and suits.
However, Coofandy needed to be more content with just the basics.
Over the years, it expanded into casual wear, tuxedos, and beachwear, rapidly growing from $6 million in its first year to $200 million by 2023.
With a strong foothold in Europe, Coofandy is ready to compete in New York, the world’s fashion capital.
“Our success has always been driven by a keen understanding of our customers and an agile approach to design,” said Silvia Zhang, Coofandy’s Brand Manager.
“We have been able to turn designs into products in just a matter of weeks, and that speed has given us a real edge in the market.”
For its NYFW debut, Coofandy has something special in store.
The brand will unveil 40 looks on the runway, and while details are still under wraps, there is a buzz about a top supermodel who will open the show.
It is a bold move that feels right for a brand that’s never shied away from making a statement.
Ekouaer: Bringing Comfort and Style to the Spotlight
Ekouaer, like Coofandy, started its journey on Amazon in 2015, focusing on women’s sleepwear.
What began as a simple idea—to create sleepwear that was as stylish as it was comfortable—soon evolved into a full-fledged fashion movement.
By 2023, Ekouaer earned $265.8 million in annual revenue and had over a million loyal social media followers.
The brand’s 2025 Spring-Summer collection, featuring 20 looks at NYFW, is about the fashion-forward, free-spirited woman.
“We wanted to create something that reflects the modern woman’s lifestyle—where comfort and style go hand in hand,” said Roger Luo, Ekouaer’s Brand Director.
Like Coofandy, Ekouaer is also keeping the identity of its runway-opening supermodel under wraps, adding a layer of intrigue to its debut.
A Collaboration That Blends Art and Fashion
To make their NYFW debut even more memorable, Coofandy and Ekouaer have partnered with Isabella Cortese, an Italian graphic designer who has worked with Moncler and now calls Barcelona home.
Cortese has created 28 unique looks—18 for Coofandy and 10 for Ekouaer—that blend minimalism with the serene beauty of nature.
The collaboration speaks to both brands’ commitment to innovation and artistry.
However, this is not just about a one-off show.
Coofandy and Ekouaer are here to stay.
Both brands have seen explosive growth, now operating in over 30 countries.
Their NYFW debut signals that they are ready to take their place globally, not just as e-commerce successes but as fashion powerhouses.
Oliver Chen, the visionary founder behind both brands, best summarized it:
“Amazon gave us a platform to reach millions, but our goal has always been to build something bigger. New York Fashion Week is the perfect place to start this new chapter in our journey.”
Looking ahead, Coofandy and Ekouaer are exploring new avenues, including direct-to-consumer sales and even brick-and-mortar stores.
It is a bold move that fits perfectly with their ambitious vision for the future.
