While delivering a memorable performance that revisited highlights from his illustrious career, Jackman delighted fans with anecdotes about his 2024 Marvel blockbuster, Deadpool & Wolverine.
A Lighthearted “Gripe” About the Marvel Hit
During his opening-night performance, 56 Jackman reflected on his time filming Deadpool & Wolverine alongside co-star Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy.
While praising the film as an incredible experience, he humorously revealed a “small gripe” about being left out of the movie’s opening dance sequence, which featured Deadpool dancing to NSYNC’s iconic hit, Bye Bye Bye.
“I do not need to be in every frame of the movie,” Jackman quipped to the audience, “but it was strange that Ryan and I were together for most of it—except for the dance sequence. I mean, I have a little experience in that area,” he joked, referencing his extensive background in musical theater.
Bringing “The Dance That Got Away” to Life
In a gesture of humor and showmanship, Jackman treated the audience to a playful reimagining of what could have been Wolverine’s dance moment.
With a jump rope, he performed a fast-paced, choreographed routine called “the dance that got away.”
“I am not going to attempt the original choreography by Darrin Henson or Ryan’s dance double, Nick Pauley,” Jackman said. “But here is my version.”
The routine concluded with Jackman striking a Wolverine-inspired pose, earning thunderous applause.
To add to the evening’s charm, Jackman brought his trainer, Beth Lewis, on stage and surprised her with an appearance from the legendary Radio City Rockettes.
A Night of Nostalgia and Music
