Kia has unveiled a new wave of over-the-air (OTA) updates for its 2022 and newer models, bringing many innovative features to improve the overall driving experience.
The latest update includes 153 enhancements, focusing on in-car entertainment and advanced electric vehicle (EV) functionalities.
One of the most notable additions is the integration of SoundCloud, a popular music streaming platform.
This marks the second music streaming service available in Kia vehicles, following the introduction of Amazon Music, which now also supports voice recognition.
With SoundCloud, drivers can access over 375 million tracks from more than 40 million artists.
The update also enhances the EV Route Planner, which now offers a split-screen view to access crucial information such as arrival time, charging status, and charging point location.
The system will also automatically add charging stations to the route if the destination cannot be reached with the current battery level, ensuring a smoother journey for EV drivers.
In addition to these updates, new voice commands have been added to access flight information, adjust ambient lighting, and check critical vehicle data, such as battery status.
Kia has also introduced a faster OTA update process, reducing the time it takes for vehicles to receive the latest software improvements.
“Kia is committed to continuously enhancing the ownership experience for our customers,” said Sjoerd Knipping, Vice President of Marketing and Product at Kia Europe.
“These OTA updates allow us to deliver meaningful improvements directly to the vehicle without needing a service visit, ensuring that our vehicles remain at the cutting edge of technology.”
Customers can access these updates through the Kia Connect App and the Kia Connect Store, where a one-year free trial for navigation maps and infotainment updates is available.
After the trial, users can opt for a subscription service to continue receiving updates.
This latest update reinforces Kia’s position as a leader in digital innovation.
It ensures that its vehicles continue to evolve throughout their lifespan with new features and improvements delivered seamlessly via wireless technology.
