Brazilian Court Hotel Partners With Johanna Ortiz For Centennial

Brazilian Court Hotel marks its 100th anniversary with an exclusive partnership featuring luxury designer Johanna Ortiz at Casa by Brazilian Court.

The Brazilian Court Hotel is celebrating its centennial year with an exclusive new partnership that brings internationally acclaimed Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz into its signature retail space.

The collaboration, which officially launched on March 5, 2026, sees Ortiz take up permanent residence in Casa by Brazilian Court, the hotel’s intimate 496-square-foot experiential luxury boutique.

This marks the designer’s first permanent retail presence in the Palm Beach market.

The space now features Ortiz’s latest ready-to-wear, vacation wear, accessories, and homeware collections, along with seasonal launches that reflect her signature feminine silhouettes, vibrant prints, ruffles, and effortless Latin-inspired elegance.

“We are honored to welcome Johanna Ortiz to Casa by Brazilian Court,” said Bobby Schlesinger, co-owner of the hotel.

“Her artistry and global perspective align seamlessly with the spirit of our property. We are always aiming to bring new luxury experiences to our guests and to the Palm Beach community.”

Schlesinger also previewed “some very exciting expansions” with the Johanna Ortiz brand in the coming months.

The partnership builds directly on a successful 2025 immersive pop-up with Moda Operandi that transformed the boutique into a vibrant celebration of Latin American craftsmanship.

It perfectly complements the hotel’s Spanish Colonial architecture, lush tropical courtyards, and refined yet relaxed Palm Beach aesthetic.

A true landmark, The Brazilian Court first opened its doors on New Year’s Day in 1926.

Designed by renowned architect Rosario Candela and later expanded by Maurice Fatio in 1936, the 80-room boutique property quickly became a discreet favorite among the island’s elite.

Its palm-fringed courtyards, fountains, and intimate scale have set it apart from larger resorts for a full century.

Located at 301 Australian Avenue, just two blocks from Worth Avenue shopping and moments from the ocean, the hotel feels more like a private residence than a traditional property.

The Schlesinger family has owned and operated the hotel since 2001, carefully preserving its historic character while introducing modern luxury touches.

A thoughtful renovation led by Bobby Schlesinger and designer Lauren Hastings refreshed the interiors with greens, dark wood, marble bathrooms, and pecky cypress details that honor its Roaring Twenties roots.

Throughout 2026, the hotel is marking its 100th anniversary with special programming and elevated guest experiences.

These include a signature “Black & Gold” dessert at Café Boulud, the hotel’s award-winning restaurant by celebrated chef Daniel Boulud.

Guests continue to enjoy the palm-lined outdoor pool and hot tub, complimentary bike rentals, curated beach outings with Mercedes transport, and private two-hour cruises aboard the 44-foot Italian yacht BC One.

Industry observers note that the timing of the Johanna Ortiz partnership feels particularly fitting.

As Palm Beach strengthens its position as one of America’s leading luxury destinations, the alliance between a historic hotel with a century-old legacy and a dynamic global designer represents the ideal balance of heritage and contemporary relevance.

Ortiz launched her label in Cali, Colombia, in 2003 after studying at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.

She has since built an international following for designs that celebrate joy, femininity, and Latin American culture, frequently appearing on red carpets and in the wardrobes of discerning women worldwide.

For both hotel guests and the local community, Casa by Brazilian Court now offers a unique opportunity to step into Johanna Ortiz’s world amid the hotel’s tropical gardens and elegant surroundings.

The boutique is open to the public, making the experience accessible beyond overnight stays.

As The Brazilian Court enters its second century, this latest collaboration underscores its ongoing commitment to evolving while staying true to its storied past.

With additional expansions reportedly planned with the Johanna Ortiz brand, the hotel continues to set the standard for intimate, personalized luxury in Palm Beach.
