US Secret Service agents on Saturday night foiled an armed intrusion at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, subduing a heavily armed California man who breached a security checkpoint and opened fire, injuring one agent before attempting to reach the ballroom where President Donald J. Trump and Vice President JD Vance were attending the high-profile event.
