GCL SI, a leading global player in the solar power industry, has marked a significant milestone at Intersolar South America 2024 by officially joining the Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (ABSOLAR).

This strategic move highlights GCL SI’s deepening commitment to advancing the solar energy market in Brazil and underscores its dedication to fostering sustainable energy solutions within the region.

The membership agreement between GCL SI and ABSOLAR was formally signed during the event in São Paulo, symbolizing a promising collaboration to promote solar energy use across Brazil.

Rodrigo Ferreira F. Pedroso, a Board Member of ABSOLAR, attended GCL SI’s workshop on August 26.

He underscored the importance of this partnership in driving the growth of Brazil’s photovoltaic (PV) sector.

ABSOLAR is a non-profit organization representing companies throughout Brazil’s PV industry, advocating for their interests and working to enhance the adoption of solar energy in the country.

“GCL SI is proud to be part of ABSOLAR, an organization committed to improving knowledge in the solar industry and promoting this technology in Brazil. This collaboration will allow us to expand our presence in the Latin American market and leverage ABSOLAR’s expertise to drive solar energy development in Brazil,” said Enrique Garcia Ferreiro, Head of Iberia & LATAM at GCL SI.

GCL Group is recognized for its leadership in the solar industry, particularly with the world’s largest granular silicon production capacity of 420,000 tons.

The company’s production process significantly reduces carbon emissions, boasting a carbon footprint of 20.74 kg CO2 per kilogram of granular silicon—an impressive 74% reduction compared to the traditional Siemens method.

At Intersolar South America 2024, GCL SI also showcased its cutting-edge solar module products, including the NT10/78GDF, NT10/72GDF, and NT12R/66GDF modules, which feature the innovative GCL Carbon Data Platform.

This platform is the first in the solar PV industry, integrating granular silicon technology, blockchain, and digital intelligence to provide transparent, traceable, and verifiable carbon footprint management.

The platform’s decarbonization core, combined with the SiRo modules, sets new industry standards by visualizing, quantifying, and authenticating the low carbon footprint of granular silicon products.

GCL SI’s membership in ABSOLAR marks a critical step forward in the company’s expansion within the Brazilian and broader Latin American markets.

This partnership enhances GCL SI’s brand influence and signals the maturation of its local sales networks, paving the way for further growth in the region.

As the solar energy sector continues to evolve, GCL SI’s commitment to innovation and sustainability remains at the forefront, driving the development of renewable energy solutions that meet the needs of the future.
