San Antonio, Texas—The American Osteopathic Information Association (AOiA) will present cutting-edge digital health advancements at OMED24, the premier osteopathic medical conference, from September 20-22, 2024.
The Digital Health Innovation Hub is at the heart of this year’s event, where leading osteopathic professionals will showcase how AI, digital health policy, and innovative technologies are reshaping the future of osteopathic medicine.
Launched in 2024, AOiA’s Digital Health Innovation Community of Practice (DHI CoP) aims to integrate digital health into clinical practice through three key pillars: education and training, policy development, and technology integration.
The OMED24 Digital Health Innovation Hub will offer seven expert-led sessions where practitioners can gain insights into these critical areas.
Leading the Charge in Digital Health Innovation
At the center of the AOiA’s vision is the seamless fusion of osteopathic medicine and digital health.
“Osteopathic medicine has always embraced a holistic approach to care,” explained Cole Zanetti, DO, MPH, co-chair of the DHI CoP. “By incorporating AI and technology, we ensure that osteopathic principles continue to thrive in an increasingly digital world.”
Mari Greenberger, AOiA’s Digital Health Innovation Lead, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of blending digital tools with traditional osteopathic practices.
“It is not just about the technology—it is about advancing the quality of patient care and empowering physicians with the tools they need to excel in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape,” Greenberger said.
A Focus on AI, Policy, and Education
The OMED24 Thought Leadership Theater sessions are designed to inspire and educate osteopathic professionals on the latest innovations in digital health.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with AI applications, explore digital health policy updates, and understand how technology is transforming the delivery of osteopathic care.

Empowering Osteopathic Physicians Beyond the Conference
While the sessions at OMED24 offer a glimpse into the future of digital health, the work of AOiA’s DHI CoP will continue long after the conference. Through ongoing webinars and training sessions, the DHI CoP provides a platform for continuous learning and collaboration among osteopathic professionals. “Education is at the core of what we do,” said Greenberger. “Our goal is to ensure that every osteopathic physician has the tools and knowledge to implement digital health innovations in their practice.”
The DHI CoP also encourages members to get involved in policy advocacy, ensuring that the needs of osteopathic professionals are represented in the fast-moving world of digital health legislation.
By participating in these discussions, practitioners can avoid changes that could impact their ability to integrate digital tools into clinical settings.
Why Digital Health is Crucial for the Future of Osteopathic Medicine
With healthcare evolving rapidly, integrating AI and other digital innovations has become a priority for many medical specialties.
This shift is especially significant for osteopathic physicians as it complements their holistic approach to patient care.
Combining osteopathic principles with digital health tools enables doctors to provide more personalized, efficient, and effective treatments.
“The future of osteopathic medicine lies in our ability to adapt and innovate,” said Zanetti.
“By embracing digital health, we are not just improving outcomes for our patients—we are demonstrating what makes osteopathic medicine truly unique.”
